Refining
The refining activity was assigned to the Arabian Gulf Oil Company, represented by the Sarir and Tobruk refineries, on 01/07/1989 and 01/12/1990, respectively, after it was directly managed by the National Oil Corporation. The products of the Tobruk refinery are pumped through the pipeline established for this purpose to a warehouse Brega Oil Marketing Company, or by ship transportation to the rest of Libya,It is our work
The surplus for local consumption is exported abroad using the latest methods and methods used in this field. As for the Sarir Refinery, it supplies the Sarir Agricultural Project with the diesel fuel necessary to operate the project’s equipment, and the rest of the products are distributed through the land fleet of the Brega Company to market oil to various regions of Libya.

The Arabian Gulf Oil Company was established on modern administrative foundations, and to achieve clear national objectives. On December 7, 1971, the Revolutionary Command Council issued Law No. 115 of 1971, by virtue of which the share of the British Petroleum Company Limited, known as (BP Company), in Oil Concession Contract No. 65 was nationalized. All funds, rights and assets related to this company in this activity were transferred to the Libyan state. At the same time, a Libyan joint-stock company called (Arabian Gulf Exploration Company) was established, and its full ownership was to be the National Oil Corporation.
